Why Your Ecovacs Deebot Won't Charge (And What to Try First)
Symptoms we hear most
- Robot sits on the dock but battery % never rises - App shows a charging error - Dock light behaviour looks wrong with the robot on or off the pad
Before you buy a battery, rule out contact and dock issues. Battery swaps are common — but oxidised pads and poor seating cause a large share of "dead battery" tickets.
DIY order that usually works
1. Unplug the dock, wait 30 seconds, plug it back in. Confirm the dock has power with the robot removed. 2. Clean robot and dock charging contacts with a dry microfibre cloth. Stubborn film: lightly damp cloth, then dry fully. 3. Seat the robot centred so both pads touch. Push gently until it nests. 4. Try a different wall outlet and check the cable is fully seated in the dock. 5. If the robot still will not take charge after clean contacts and verified dock power, the battery or dock board may need assessment.
Safety notes
Do not open sealed battery packs yourself. Swollen packs are a stop-DIY moment — request a quote rather than forcing a swap.
