Auto-Empty Not Working

Roborock: Dock will not empty the dustbin

Applies to: Roborock. Meanings can vary by model — trust the voice alert on your unit.

What causes it?

Roborock auto-empty docks (S8, Qrevo, Saros) skip emptying when it is disabled or blocked by Do Not Disturb, when the robot was placed on the dock by hand or returned without cleaning, or when battery is under 10%. Weak or noisy emptying usually means a missing or full dust bag, a mis-seated main brush cover, or fluff blocking the air path between dustbin and dock.

How to fix it

  1. In the Roborock app, enable Auto-Emptying and check Do Not Disturb is not blocking it.
  2. Confirm the dock dust container cover and dust bag are fitted; replace a full bag and unfold it fully.
  3. Charge above 10% and run Empty manually — auto-empty will not trigger after a hand-placed dock or a return without cleaning.
  4. Reseat the main brush and brush cover.
  5. Clear fluff from the robot dust outlet, filter, air duct, suction inlet, and the dock air inlet.
  6. If it still fails with a clear path and a new bag, the dock blower or air path needs repair.
