Where to look: Folding OmniGrip arm compartment on top of the Saros Z70.

OmniGrip arm tangled, jammed, or cannot release/retract. Official reset holds; forcing the mechanism can damage gears.

Quick answers

What is wrong?

OmniGrip arm tangled, jammed, or cannot release/retract. Official reset holds; forcing the mechanism can damage gears.

What you might notice

  • Arm stuck extended
  • Cannot release a picked-up item
  • App reports arm jam

Can I fix this myself?

Often yes with careful cleaning. Difficulty: medium · about 5-20 min. If unsure or it returns after parts cleaning, use mail-in repair.

What you need

  • Just your hands and a clear floor

Do this

    • Press emergency stop if the arm is unsafe mid-motion.
    • Remove entangled items; move the robot to an open area.
    • Press and hold the two arm-reset controls together so the arm releases and retracts (per Z70 manual).
    • Clear objects near the electric hatch before retrying.
    • If the arm will not reset, contact Roborock or request mail-in repair — do not force the mechanism.

Parts (only if cleaning fails)

  • Arm module (service)
