Floating cable tangling / kinks

Quick answers

What is wrong?

Cable tangles in the pool or is excessively coiled/kinked.

What you might notice

  • Cable tangle
  • Odd cleaning pattern

Can I fix this myself?

Usually yes for cleaning/clearing. Difficulty: easy · about 10-20 min. If unsure or the fault returns, use mail-in repair.

What you need

  • None — sun space for cable

Do this

    • Do not put the entire cable in the water — only enough to cover the pool; leave the rest on the deck.
    • Enter the cable near mid-pool length; spread it kink-free. After cycles, untangle from the cleaner head.
    • If kinked, lay cable straight in the sun to relax. Store without tight coils.
    • If cable is damaged, request repair/replacement.

Parts (only if cleaning fails)

  • None for a basic clean
